Accessibility Isn’t Just a Checkbox

Accessibility is one of those topics that can feel unfamiliar and more complicated than it needs to be. The standards are dense, the terminology is unfamiliar, and it’s not always obvious what any of it means for the page you’re building or testing today.
This session takes the mystery out of it. We’ll cover what accessibility standards mean in a PeopleSoft context, how to spot issues yourself, and how to build with accessibility in mind from the start.
We’ll walk through the kinds of findings we see most often in delivered pages, eForms, Page Builder pages, and custom applications, along with practical ways to fold accessibility checks into the testing you’re already doing. No specialized tools or deep technical background required.
What we’ll cover
- What accessibility standards mean in practice, and how to tell if you’re meeting them
- Common issues we see in PeopleSoft and eForms, and what causes them
- How to add accessibility checks to your standard testing routine
- Building accessible content: alt text, video transcripts, labels, color and contrast, keyboard navigation
- Applying the same thinking to Page Builder, custom apps, and anywhere you configure PeopleSoft
- Where remediation gets overwhelming, and what options exist to accelerate it
Who should attend: Anyone who builds, configures, or tests applications. Functional and technical both welcome.
