Expanding PeopleSoft to Serve a New Community
The University of Connecticut partnered with Gideon Taylor to expand its PeopleSoft Campus Solutions environment to support non-degree-seeking students, including visiting students, high school dual enrollment, and senior citizen audit registration.
Previously, this process was highly manual and spread across three departments. UConn modernized the experience by launching a fully digital, external-facing PeopleSoft application through a public portal.
The solution is built entirely on PeopleSoft and includes:
- PeopleSoft Fluid UI
- Approval Framework
- Delivered Campus Solutions components
- GT eForms
- Constituent Transaction Management for identity management and search/match
- Quick Admit and Term Activation automation
- Secure public access without requiring an EMPLID
To further streamline processing, the team introduced automation “robots” to manage steps while waiting for other processes to complete.
Results and Impact
- 400 applications submitted in the first month
- 80% processed with minimal manual intervention
- Fully automated admissions workflow across three departments
- Secure public portal for applicants without system credentials
- Faster turnaround time and improved applicant experience
