University of Alberta Chooses Gideon Taylor Partner for ePAF™ Phase II
14 May 2009

The University of Alberta has selected our partner firm, Sierra Systems, to provide Discovery services for a project to expand the scope of their successful ePAF™ system (called SmartForms). Gideon Taylor will provide supporting resources to augment Sierra's team of GT-trained consultants.

The University of Alberta implemented GT eForms™ 2.3 and ePAF™ in 2006 to automate the personnel actions for high-turnover employee populations. The solution has been praised by initiating departments, core offices and IT. A recent internal audit found the reliability, efficiency and tracking benefits of ePAF™ so compelling that the auditors strongly recommended extending its reach to the rest of the employee population.

The project will include upgrading GT eForms™ to version 2.8. The Discovery phase is scheduled to begin on June 8.

Gideon Taylor Prototypes GT eTime™ for Time and Absence Entry
04 May 2009

Gideon Taylor is pleased to announce it has successfully prototyped a new GT eForms™-based time and absence entry solution for PeopleSoft. GT eTime™ can provide employees with a simple, guided process to enter both time and absence information. The resulting eForm routes through a completely customizable approval process, and after final approval, enters itself into the appropriate PeopleSoft system or systems. Target systems can include Time and Labor, Absence Management, Leave Accruals in Base Benefits, and Paysheets in Payroll.

The GT eTime™ solution includes the following features:

  • Enter time and absence information into the same simple eForm!
  • Multiple, customizable entry pages optimized for different entry types: positive pay, exception pay and different pay period durations. Custom pages without customizing delivered PeopleSoft!
  • Real-time, auto-updated leave balances.
  • Both PeopleSoft edits and custom edits are applied as time is entered, so it has to be right!
  • Entry can be disallowed to pay periods for which payroll has been run.
  • Approval paths can be different for different business cases, including ad hoc approvers and notifications.
  • All actions are tracked and easily audited and reported on.
  • Easy, automated entry into PeopleSoft!

Built on the flexible power of GT eForms™ 2.8, GT eTime™ can be customized by setup table changes to match your unique business processes. We are happy to add GT eTime™ to the growing list of pre-developed solutions Gideon Taylor provides to our GT eForms™ licensees.
